Monkey Forest - Ubud, Bali

The Monkey Forest in Ubud is understandably popular with visitors. The monkeys are wild but well adapted to making the most of those who come to gawp at them. For me, the delight is getting close enough to family groups to watch the interaction, and the little details of personal life - like the monkey flossing its teeth with a stick. The babies attracted me most, with faces wrinkled like the old and such deep eyes.

Monkey dental floss

Dental hygiene is a serious matter, and its essential to get the right size inter-dental brush, as the images on the right illustrate...

scratching ear

If your ear itches while you're holding onto Mum with one hand and the branch with the other, the logical thing to do is scratch it with your foot!

Now hold still, while I take a look at this!

It's not all fun and games; this monkey just sat and stared with a far-away, thoughtful and rather sad expression.

And now... Why not take a look at my other photographs of Bali?
